Didi & Steve @ Emerald Lake

September 5, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Emerald Lake, B.C. is always one of favourite places in the area, if not the world, to shoot a wedding.

The spectacular & peacful setting can’t be matched anywhere. The famous lodge is accessible yet still gives that “getting away from it all” experience.

Didi & Steve were so great to work with. I couldn’t a imagine a much more easy shoot. A one of a kind setting, a couple so obviously in love. All Toni and I had to do was push the shutter ;-}

Thanks so much guys for a great day! Look for your proofs online in the next few days.

Cheers.

Bianca & Will

September 5, 2008 · Leave a Comment

August 15th saw one of the warmest days we’ve had this year for Bianca & Will’s nuptials. Part of our wedding party was from Florida so it probably seemed cold to them ;-}

Many tears of joy were shed during a beautiful outdoor ceremony high atop the Hoo Doos Viewpoint on Tunnel Mtn.

Thanks guys, for being so easy going and such great models!

Joanne & Andrew having fun in the sun!

September 5, 2008 · Leave a Comment

We had a great time with Joanne & Andrew on August 9th. They and their wedding party really got into the spirit of the day, jumping for joy at one point. Without any prompting fro us, the happy couple doffed their shoes and jumped in the lake! Thanks to all of you for being so fun to work with.

What a day Abi & I had in Calgary on Aug. 3rd.

A great couple, a great location, some fantastic singing, wonderful flower girls, a thunderstorm & a handsome Horse!

We want to thank you both for having us at your celebration. Thanks also for inspiring us with your own ideas about locations. Love that canola field!

Look for your proofs online early next week.

Lisa & Mike

August 23, 2008 · Leave a Comment

This summer has brought some of the most challenging conditions for outdoor photography we’ve experienced in a while. But at Bonner we like a challenge! That’s really the beauty of having a wedding day in the Rockies. I can say for certain that, at times, no 2 hours, nevermind days, are ever the same. The mountains definitely have moods and we enjoy experiencing all of them.

After a cloudy start to Lisa & Mike’s wedding portraits on August 2nd, the day just got steadily better. By the time they exited the church and climbed into their Carraige for their journey to the Banff Springs Hotel, the sun was shining brightly.

Congrats to both of you!

Sara & Bryan (& a little weather!)

August 23, 2008 · Leave a Comment

July 26th saw Abi & I working with Sara & Bryan of Yellowknife. Little did any of us anticipate that some ‘interesting’ weather ;-} would make it’s arrival just in time for the their wedding ceremony.

While Marion Kutzer sped up the wedding vows a little and the wedding party did a valiant job protecting the Bride & Groom with umbrellas, it was so great to see the brave guests smiling & cheering for Sara & Bryan despite a ‘little’ water.

A mad dash to the parking lot and a short break to allow the wedding party to re-group and, as usual in the mountains, the hot sun returned 1 hour later allowing for some wonderful portraits.

Congrats to both of you and kudos for staying positive & being so great to work with!

Is Andrew DEAD?

August 21, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Well, is he?

No, I’ve not been pushing up daisies, although, I’m sure this question crossed the minds of a few of you wondering if my next installment of the Bonner Blog was ever going to be published.  I’m happy to report that the lapse was only the temporary casualty of a busy wedding season of which the peak was reached a few days ago.  (At one point I counted having photographed 7 weddings over a period of 14 days!)  To be honest though, they’ve been a lot of fun and Abi and I have had a great time photographing such a diversity of celebrations.

Enjoy the update!

A Wedding at 7700′

August 11, 2008 · Leave a Comment

On July 20th Toni & I were priviledged to photograph Art & Ashley’s wedding at the Eagles Eye Restaurant on top of the Kicking Horse Ski Resort near Golden, B.C. . What a view!!

The couple had a bit of a cowboy theme to their day in keeping with their upbringing here in the West.

We had a lot of fun working with their friends and family and a little bit of high altitude wind just added to the excitement.

A Wedding, A Party…..and an Egg Race ?!

July 31, 2008 · Leave a Comment

What was it W.C. Fields said about never working with Children & Animals ? ;-} Well, he was wrong anyways as Toni & I had a wonderful time working with Kari & Edward, their great kids and their extended families on July 19th at the Chateau Lake Louise.

Kari & Edward made a point of really involving the younger members of their and their guests families in the wedding day. A separate room was booked for the kids to have their own party. Egg races, Twister and their own menu of Pizza and Hot Dogs! I was torn about which dinner to sit in on ;-}.

Here are a few pics of the best party the Chateau has seen in a while! (I didn’t even mention the 80’s tribute band!!)
